Reminders & SMS notifications
SMS reminders are gated to paid tiers, metered at 250 credits per seat per month, and silently fall back to email when you run out — with no way to top up.
What people actually say
✕Non-Enterprise plans get 250 SMS credits per seat per month; Enterprise gets 1,000. Messages cost 0, 1, 3 or 9 credits depending on country, and once you hit 100% usage texts stop and Calendly sends emails instead.

Source: Calendly Help — SMS credit overage ↗✕Even on Teams and Enterprise, SMS is not automatic — you have to build Workflows manually, and reviewers note that automated reminders and workflows are absent entirely from the free plan.

Reminders run on Inngest schedules with Resend for email and Twilio for SMS — pay-as-you-send, no credit pool, no silent fallback. Workflows are TypeScript files, so the rule that fires the 24-hour and 1-hour pings is in version control, not buried in an admin menu.
